State of Michigan

No Continuing Ed
Although Governor Granholm is in favor of continuing education for builder licensees, as of today (January 5, 2007) she vetoed the two bills requiring it. The Governor announced in a letter to the legislature that she would not be signing those bills into law. Governor Granholm noted in the letter her concerns about bills 631/632, and stated that she intends to keep working with the legislature on improvements to the proposed laws.

Housing Rally Draws Attention of Legislature
Four hundred members of the Michigan Association of Home Builders came to Lansing on May 20th to Stand Up for Housing.  We had a presence that ranged from the Upper Peninsula to Monroe and from Holland to the Thumb.  From north, south, east and west members told their legislators to stand up for housing. Read more...
